What we choose to see and understand becomes sharp and everything on the periphery becomes blurry. This is both a plus and a minus in living. But as marvelous as our brains are, there is no way any one of them could possibly behold reality in all its awful awesomeness. The most we can do is acknowledge that reality exists, but we are forever outside of it, though it holds us fast. To play with reality in fiction and in prose remains a experiment, an exercise, for which of us can even comprehend another's reality in it's totality - even a made-up one?Robyn McIntyrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10735905850843795377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5179795275664264195.post-41851208220977954722013-08-27T12:43:59.214+01:002013-08-27T12:43:59.214+01:00Very thought provoking, brilliant essay. An acknowledgement of fiction seems more authentic to me. A stimulating read for the old brain. <br />I do agree about the need to recognise our own subjective and tenuous grip on reality - and it's that bewilderment and cause/pause for thought that makes us and our lives so fascinating - and gives fiction its infinite possibilities.Anne Stormontnoreply@blogger.com
